Recapture Myth: "Houston ISD is a poor district."

FALSE.

Out of 1,008 taxing school districts in Texas, Houston ISD ranks in the TOP 20% in property wealth. At the same spot on the opposite end of the list, Moody ISD, which is 184th from the bottom of the property wealth rolls, has just one quarter of the property value to tax as HISD does and must tax that property at a rate 20% higher than HISD to maintain similar student funding -- this higher tax rate is required even *with* the significant support of the Robin Hood funding it receives from the state.

Recapture Myth: "A 'Yes' vote (or FOR) would permanently compel Houston ISD to send local tax dollars to the Texas state general treasury."

FALSE.
